Emi is 2!

Little Emi has turned 2. When I told her that she was a big girl now, she immediately broke down in angry tears and insisted that she is a baby. Yes, she is most definitely not our easy child that is for sure.

Emi is our spirited one. She only does what she wants to, when she wants to. There is just no negotiating with her.

Emi loves whatever Mia loves. If Mia does it, Emi wants to do it and do it better. Example: Mia was sitting at the table spelling out words, and Emi yells stop Mia. I’m going to teach you how to spell! This infuriated Mia and an argument breaks out about who can spell the best. Emi eventually screams….”well  I can draw SQUIGGLES MIA!” Whatever that meant, it ended the argument…haha.

Emi adores Frozen, singing, wearing ballet outfits, eating chocolate, going to music and gymnastics, and animals (even though she is allergic to most it seems).

Dislikes include food…all of it…except fat free milk (which she is sensitive too) and chocolate, being without mom for more than 2 minutes, and not getting her way (major meltdowns).

Anyway, for Emi’s birthday we just kept it simple. We decorated the dining room with Frozen things, ate homemade cake for breakfast, and opened presents.

Homemade Frozen cake this year. Emi was so surprised to see her cake, and even though it wasn’t perfect, she didnt care a bit.

Blow out those candles! She needed a little help from dad.

Mmmm…well at least the first few bites…and then it ended up in the trash.

Wearing her Minnie Mouse towel that Nana sent.

She also loved getting her very own stroller.

After celebrating at home in the morning, we loaded into the car and drove to the Westchester County Center to watch Disney Live. I can’t remember the full title but essentially it was like a musical magic show. Emi is so in love with Minnie Mouse, so it was the perfect birthday present.

Beautiful stage. All of the scenery was gorgeous, especially for the princesses.

Hanging out before the show. We had a lot of time to kill since we arrived one hour early which was perfect. The venue is often short on parking. so we avoided this problem.

A picture of the ending. Ten forgot the no picture rule. Oops!

This show was a solid 9 out of 10 stars. I LOVED the Snow White and Fantasia scenes. I think Ten and the girls really liked the Toy Story and Tangled scenes. A really well made show.

I was also so proud of our girls. They are just so well behaved and easy going. Mia asked if they could get souvenirs and after she looked around, she decided that their wasn’t really anything that she just had to have. Same goes for Emi. Very mature.

Anyway , after the show we drove home and had a nice family BBQ. Awesome way to celebrate Emi 🙂
